島根県を中心とした山陰地域に貢献する研究活動の改善の取組み

1. 島根大学じげおこしプロジェクトにおいて、知夫村放牧和牛の適正飼養管理に向けた調査を令和6年度冬期に実施した。
2. 令和4年度は、平和中島財団助成金（採択課題：持続可能な地域づくりと窒素循環の日中比較研究）により、9月に邑南町の和牛・稲作農家を訪問し、調査を実施した。耕畜連携によるブランド米生産と環境負荷低減効果について検討するための試料採取を行った。プロジェクト関係者（島根大学生資、島根大学法文、寧夏研究所、立命館大学）で研究セミナーを行い、成果と令和5年度に学会報告を行い、原著論文として取りまとめることとしている。
3. 隠岐郡知夫村における和牛繁殖雌の周年放牧において、春季・夏期・秋季の栄養素充足状況の試算を行い、放牧区における和牛の限界収容頭数および冬季（枯草期）における購入粗飼料に依存する飼養体系についての提案を行うことを目的とした。 令和3年9月、11月および令和4年3月に計3回の学生インターンシップ（放牧牛の飼養管理、草地調査および家畜市場出荷補助）を行い、令和4年3月に平木伴佳知夫村長に対して本事業成果報告および協議を行った。
4. じげおこしプロジェクトの一環として、2020年3月（春季）における知夫村放牧和牛の行動調査と草地調査を実施し、その結果について知夫村役場産業建設課課長に中間報告した。
5. 本学地域ジョイント事業「じげおこしプロジェクト」の一環で、島根県知夫村役場、西ノ島町役場との協力を得て、現地視察を行い2019年度以降の現地研究に着手する準備を開始した。
6. 平成30年度島根県委託のインターンシップ等受入企業改善提案事業において、平成30年8月の浜田メイプル牧場、9月の益田メイプル牧場および平成31年2月の松永牧場において、大規模企業型酪農・肉用牛一貫生産経営の現場で学生3名のインターンシップを行うとともに、松永和平代表取締役とデイスカッションを行い、TPP発効後の県内畜産業の経営戦略についての知見を得る事が出来た。
7. 「島根県益田での大規模畜産企業と連携した専門職人材の現場育成」 Ｈ29年度9月の現場研修において、大規模肉用・乳用牛の飼養現場で実際の飼養管理体系を修得することができた。松永社長から受けた座学が畜産経営戦略を学ぶ上で参考になったとの感想が参加学生より寄せられたため、松永社長に依頼し、島根大学のすべての研究科学生を対象とした平成30年度の地域再生システム特論において「畜産関係による地域再生」というテーマで講義を行うことを快諾いただいた。今回の地域志向教育研究での島根大学と松永牧場の連携を発展させ、外部資金への申請を１件行った。さらに、この地域志向教育研究に係る研究を深めることを研究テーマとし、畜産学研究室の学生1名が自然科学研究科への進学を決意した。
8. 農水省の競争的資金に応募したものの不採択となったが、島根県中山間地域研究センターおよび西日本農業研究センター大田研究拠点と共同で実施している「放牧主体飼養による黒毛和種去勢牛の肥育」に関する研究をH28年度も継続している。 H28年11月の「しまね大交流会」で島根県西部の松永牧場社長と面会し、産学連携の申し入れを行った。
9. 山陰地域における和牛生産について以下3点の取り組みを行った。 1.2015年12月に開催された、オール島根COC+事業しまね大交流会において、「動物飼料および機能性食品の開発における新たな機能性評価手法に関する研究」についてポスター発表を行った。 2.学部ミッション推薦研究において、中山間地域研究センターと共同で県内集落営農組織における和牛繁殖雌牛の省力的飼養管理技術の確立を目指した調査を実施し、成果のとりまとめを行った。 3.大田市において島根和牛の赤身肉生産を目指した放牧試験に着手した。
10. これまでの島根県畜産技術センター（出雲市）との技術的な共同研究を発展させ、H26年度は島根県中山間地域研究センターと共同で飯南町、邑南町、大田市を調査地とした高齢化社会に対応可能な肉牛飼養システムの実装化に向けた調査・研究に着手した。この取り組みは、H28年まで継続する予定であり、延べ5名の学生の卒業研究課題となっている。
